Have been with Meadowside since I was born in 1993, the last year they have just gone from bad to worse. Trying to get a doctors appointment for my children is like trying to get blood from a stone even if I ring up at 8, they still fob them off to pharmacist or 111!! I have been so poorly for over a week now, have tried to get several doctors appointments and all they’ve done is fob me off to pharmacists or 111! Then told me they want to see me but have no appointments! I just think since gps has taken over and dr Wilkinson has left, the place has gone to an absolute shit show. You now have to go through a AI robot tell them your symptoms, and she can’t even spell my name right!!!! I will be moving me my husband and my kids, as we rarely need a doctor we’re hardly ever poorly, but when we do we can never get to see a doctor! Fix up Meadowside.
No problems booking appointment using online system. They phoned me back within 10 minutes with a consultation time. Seen by a very competent paramedic who issued a prescription, forwarded to pharmacy for me to collect. Back home by 10.30am done and dusted! Despite all the negative comments I have never had a problem here. Thank you Meadowside.
Meadowside used to be a great GP practice, before they got involved with GPS. The clinical staff are a still good, but GPS keeps inflicting new systems on their patients, the latest being an AI receptionist. I dread to think how elderly people or those on the margins of the tech world get an appointment.
If I could give No starts I would…. What kind of centre they have running here is pathetic… lie about face to face appointments and then try to say it’s a telephone appt… such liars!!!!
I was advised by a gp two weeks ago that I have a telephone appointment today. At fifteen minutes after my appointment time no one had called so I called the surgery. After spending nearly an hour and half in the queue my call was answered by someone from another branch. The unhelpful receptionist advised me that there was no appointment booked for me today. I advised her that the gp and the nhs app both confirmed that I had (I checked the nhs app last night). The very unhelpful receptionist would not help. I have an ongoing new health condition for months now being in pain daily and to date I have not had any tests to find out the cause. Meadowside has gone down hill since the recent retirement of two senior gps. Getting an appointment is very rare as all appointments are booked despite the surgery waiting room always empty.
