A wonderful find following our visit to a NT Property nearby. A very warm welcome at this charming canal side pub with restaurant, busy because it was the festive period, we were squeezed in and very grateful for this. On a wet and windy day (Storm Bran), it was great to get by the real fire. We were served by Gail who was really friendly and attentive and explored menu options with us. Drinks menu is good, varied and with offers. Lots of 0% alcohol versions for drivers. Food was excellent, reflecting the price of modern day pub dining. Great attention to detail. Food was hot, well presented, good portion sizes and again, a varied menu. Nice atmosphere, very welcoming and friendly staff. Felt valued as a customer and visitor. Thank you all at the King's Arms.
Called in for Sunday lunch after a walk along the nearby canal. Ample parking which is needed as the pub gets busy. As we were having an evening meal as well we all wanted something light but there is not much choice for that on the Sunday menu as the focus is on roast dinners. Most of us opted for fish and chips and it was really poor. Luke warm at the table and the batter was not crispy and it left a nasty aftertaste. All in all disappointed but I'm sure it can't be busy for no reason so have to assume the roasts are good.
Booked in for one night as its really convenient when visiting the NEC. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. It was a very cold day but the bar was warm with a lovely log fire. Our room was super, the bed was comfy and there was a good selection of tea and coffee. We had a super vegetarian breakfast with lots of tea and coffee. Unfortunately we left something in the room at checkout, but Dom the manager arranged to get it back to us at their cost. Brilliant service. Looking forward to another visit.
Just had a lovely meal with friends. We all agreed that the food was lovely very hot and well presented . Sam and Oscar were exceptional in looking after us. The atmosphere was perfect. The banter we had was lovely and certainly made the evening very enjoyable. Looking forward to our next visit.
Lunch time visit on a winter Thursday for lunch in dining area. Only three dining tables in use along with a pair of couples in the bar area - so not busy. Good and interesting choice of foods from menus. Once ordered food was served in the appropriate amount of time. An ideal venue for an unhurried lazy lunch with excellent food.
