The Lake at Barston Restaurant is located at the West Midlands Golf Club in Solihull, and is open to the general public. All tables have a view of the 21 acre Barston Lake and we are open all day everyday (shorter hours in the winter).
We serve an English Pub & Grill menu with Burgers, Fish, Breakfast & light options, along with Steaks & Grills. The menu served is the same in the informal Bar & Lounge area, or outside on the lawns, where to comply with social distancing rules we have an app (look in the App store for Elite Live) where you can order and pay contactless, and we will deliver your food to you. In the Restaurant we still have traditional waiter service to your table.

Booking online was great, good system with follow up emails and links to order our food. Once in the show venue, the bar was crowded on arrival. Nice welcome from the lady at reception. Bar service was ok. The music being played was ok but where i sat the sound was barely audible. Food was so so, pub grub done ok but mostly was pre prepped and pre sliced meat, auntie bessie style roast potatoes and sprouts were old school, underdone. My prawn cocktail was a pool of sauce 4 leaves and a few prawns on a plate, disappointing. The puds were ok. Then the band. Sound quality was poor, couldnt hear what he was singing half the time but he sang some good stuff from 70s and 80s. So, would i come back.....Big Fat YES. The place was buzzin, people were enjoying themselves and we had a great time. Overall we had a great night out and i would prefer to pay more and get good fresh food prelared by chefs but for what i paid, i say we will definitely return and soon
Went for a drink and walk around the lake. Beautiful place to sit and enjoy a cold drink or even to eat. Once we planned to cook the steaks for dinner we haven’t decided to eat but will definitely come again for trying their kitchen

Me and my family came for Christmas lunch on Christmas Day. From first arriving everyone and everybody was brilliant. Staff very pleasant, happy and accommodating. Decor and ambience beautiful. Food SUPERB!! No restrictions on how much u could have from the carvery . Choice of four meats and all the accompaniments and sauces expected with a Christmas Dinner. Food was hot too. We weren’t rushed from course to course . We thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely have Christmas day lunch here again.
