I was referred to this dentist by 111 after suffering with severe toothache for days. I was told by 111, and again when the dentist called me that morning, that the appointment would be covered by the NHS. I attended my 4pm appointment hoping to finally get some relief from the pain. From the moment I arrived, the experience was extremely disappointing. The surgery was upstairs, and after walking up the stairs I was short of breath. As soon as the dentist noticed this — and saw the medication I am on and that I have a disability — her attitude completely changed. She became rude, dismissive, and spoke to me in a very abrupt manner. During the examination, I clearly told her which teeth were hurting, especially when she touched them. Instead of listening, she snapped at me, saying, “Why are you not telling me what hurts?” I was telling her, but it felt like she was not listening at all. Her tone was unprofessional and lacked compassion. Despite explaining that I am in significant pain and cannot keep suffering like this, she refused to remove the two teeth causing the issue. Instead, she prescribed antibiotics and told me to take pain medication that I am allergic to — something I had clearly written on their medical form beforehand. I also verbally told her I am allergic to it, yet she showed no concern. To make matters worse, while I was at the pharmacy collecting the antibiotics, the dentist called me demanding payment. I explained that I had been told by 111 and by their own phone call earlier that day that this appointment would be covered by the NHS. The woman on the phone became rude and began speaking to me as if bailiffs would be involved. I became extremely upset and frustrated. I contacted 111 again, and they confirmed that I should not need to pay. However, I was told that if the dentist continues to demand payment and threatens further action, I may have to pay to avoid it going to court. This has caused me significant stress on top of already being in severe pain. I am still in a lot of pain, very upset, and deeply disappointed by how I was treated. As someone with a disability and ongoing health issues, I expected basic respect, understanding, and care. Instead, I was met with rudeness, dismissal, and unnecessary intimidation. I would not recommend this dentist, especially to anyone who is vulnerable or already in distress
I had a check up today with Yousuf, who was exceptionally professional, warm and welcoming. He is always mindful that I am a nervous patient and consistently puts me at ease, for which I am very grateful. The reception team were equally friendly and helpful, making the overall experience positive and reassuring :)
I received very good high quality service and advice from ALL at this practice. I approached them because I found that they have the latest specialist equipment that my dentist did not have. After a consultation with Dr. Yousef Ibrahim, I left feeling really content to have received 1st class advice and service. A very busy practice. We are lucky to have this facility on our doorstep.
Memoona was was fantastic with my 4yr old son who was nervous about the appointment today! She made him feel immediately at ease with her warm calming approach and gave him a sticker and lots of praise at the end of the appointment! Very much appreciated!
I went to Bupa Dental Care Kings Heath with my kids on our sexond visit on Monday, 15th December 2025 and Mamoona was very pleasant and quite professional. The receptionists were receptive as well. Great Dental care overall
