I recently had a check up and had a really good experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff were kind, welcoming, and very helpful, which instantly made me feel comfortable . The dentist was professional, gentle, and took the time to explain everything clearly. The check up was thorough, and I felt well looked after throughout the appointment. I really appreciate how friendly and reassuring the whole team was. I’d definitely recommend this practice to others.
I had a very disappointing experience with this dental practice. I had an appointment booked and called ahead to say I would be running about 10 minutes late. I was told the receptionist would check with the dentist and put me on hold, but instead the phone was put down and I had to call back myself. When I finally got through again, I was told the dentist refused to see me because I had cancelled appointments in the past. I explained that the practice has also cancelled appointments on me before, but this was completely dismissed. The customer service was poor — the receptionist showed no empathy, did not seem to care, and ended the conversation by saying she was “not the person to speak to”. In addition to this, my brother has also had a negative experience at this practice, including poor medical treatment and a lack of proper care, which further raises concerns about the standard of service provided. Overall, the communication was unprofessional and the attitude towards patients was very disappointing. I would not recommend this practice based on these experiences.
Good: This practice is able to take on new NHS patients. Bad: My 'old' dentist moved on from the practice, to be replaced with a 'nice', but inexperienced (imho) practitioner, who carried out a couple of fillings of old and decaying and uncomfortable teeth, with no x-rays and no proper diagnosis. I was in agony over the Christmas period, following my fillings. I managed to get an emergency appointment in the new year, which resulted in an unexpected extraction. I've now spent 5 months of discomfort, having had a tooth extracted, without even being sure that the dentist pulled the problem tooth. I'm moving on from this practice - as soon as I can find another local NHS dentist! Update: I haven't moved to an alternate practice because there aren't that many able to accept NHS patients and this practice is just up the road from me. Today I've had a new crown fitted, so I can chew my food more comfortably. The dentist commented "you've got your smile back". I wasn't really worried about my smile, but thank you very much, Glebe Farm Dental Practice. If I could I'd upgrade you to three stars. Edit: Several months later, I'm in less pain (although my teeth are still crumbling and decaying), so I'm willing to acknowledge that I might have been a bit harsh in my first review. The downgrade in my rating is due to my irritation at the state of NHS dentistry, rather than the fault of anyone at this practice.
Absolutely brilliant service from all staff but especially Dr. Hussain Ahmed who made my nervous 5 year old (first check) so comfortable through his treatment. Many thanks.
Absolutely terrible! I had recently visited this dentist. Dentist done a X-ray she came across quite rude and felt like she was looking down on me judgemental type. She mentioned how my hygiene isn’t great and teeth need a clean. Being adamant it’s either extraction of tooth or root canal evidently now they charge for root canal bare in mind I’m on universal credit and had one done 2 years ago at the same dentist and I didn’t pay. She had no intention of even attempting a root canal even though my nerves were ok. Out of curiosity I asked how much it would cost she said £1,000 for root canal and a implant is £2,000! but honestly I didn’t think she’s telling the truth. So I visited another nhs dentist who said they going to do a filling if it’s not successful a root canal and guess what it’s also nhs and the treatments are FREE for root canal. Implants costing around 800-1,000. Stay away guys if something doesn’t feel right get a second opinion. You claim your an NHS dentist but don’t offer that service to your patients quite RIDICULOUS!
