Receptionists are so incredibly rude and unhelpful. Telling me she doesn’t know what I expect her to do to book me in an appointment when there are 7 surgeries that are part of this partnership and there’s not a single one that can get me booked in on a Monday. Avoid at all costs unless you want to be belittled by the receptionist staff. A 1 star review is quite generous
See there are a few negative experiences on here, but in the interests of fairness I actually had a very good one. I didnt use the telephone option so cant comment on queueing issues with that, but instead filled in the online form for a routine medical issue.. so not even an urgent one. I filled the form in giving lots of info at about 3pm on a Monday afternoon and at 7PM got a text giving me an appointment at Grove (not the nearest surgery to me but not an issue really) for the following afternoon. When I got there I got in to see the GP 5 mins early and after a chat he gave me a cortisone injection there and then. No need to come back. Cant say fairer than that for a good experience these days.
Terrible service from start to finish. I had been having problems with, what I believed to be returning asthma, for about a week. I had been using a family members inhaler over the weekend to ensure I could still carry out daily tasks and not have to go to A&E. I didn’t call on the Monday as I was at work and thought (I thought very wrong) that they would give me a same day appointment as I was breathless and really struggling. So I completed the form first thing on Tuesday for them to tell me I would have an appointment in 8 days time. They completely ignored the fact I’d stated I was using medication that wasn’t prescribed to me and refused to give me any medication advice. I had to ring 111 on the evening who arranged for an out of hours doctor to call me on the night. This doctor told me that I needed to arrange an appointment for the next day. I ring the surgery on this day, to be told there’s no available appointments and all they could do is fill in another form. The gentleman on the phone was helpful as I understand it is not their fault, it’s the people that run it. He helped me fill in another form to which I then got an appointment. It turns out my asthma has returned and my symptoms were moderate, not even mild which should be flagged as urgent anyway according to their form. I will be trying to find another surgery as you have more chance of winning the lottery than getting an appointment.
I’m very disappointed with the service. For an appointment, they send out a form to complete, which I did for my son, but I never received a reply. As a result, no appointment was given and no treatment was provided. It makes me question the point of being registered with them if patients can’t access care. They receive NHS funding for registered patients, yet seem unwilling to provide treatment. The service feels poor, and the communication with patients is unacceptable. I believe the NHS should review and address this type of practice to ensure patients receive the care they are entitled to.
Great practice they are really modern, online system was so much faster than the phone!
