Absolutely horrendous experience at this surgery. The older Indian lady on reception was extremely rude and dismissive from the moment we arrived — no smile, muttering under her breath, and speaking disrespectfully to my child, who has Down syndrome. When I calmly asked whether my name had been called, she began shouting at me in front of the waiting room. This completely unacceptable behaviour caused my child significant distress and left them in tears. There is no excuse for treating any patient this way, especially a vulnerable child. Having since read other reviews, it appears this individual’s behaviour is a common theme. As a result of this experience, I have de-registered from the practice and will be reporting this incident to the CQC . I would strongly advise caution to anyone attending this surgery, particularly families with children or additional needs.

Dr. Zeenat Hamid was great help very professional and most helpful. Showed immense expertise and experience in the field. Made me really welcome and showed interest in my well being. It was great experience for me and I am very happy with her help.

Awful system and service and terrible communication from staff. Very rare you'll find a good doctor here and when you do, make sure you request them every time. This surgery is a far cry from what it once was before GPS Healthcare.

I've read a lot of these reviews and wondered if they were talking about the same surgery? I've suffered with ill health for the first time in my life over the last 6/7 months and Tanworth Lane have been fantastic! I've used the Blinx system to ask for an urgent appointment and not once have I not had an appointment the same day. Repeat medication is easy, I use Systmonline and have never had an issue with it being issued promptly and the pharmacy next door deliver, free of charge. The Reception staff I've found to be professional and pleasant. No, I've never seen the same GP twice, but all have been up to speed on what my ongoing issue is and they have gone out of their way to help me. It's just my own experience - I moved doctors after being with my last one for over 45 years who were amazing, when I moved to this area - it's always a risk, but I'm more than satisfied with the service I've received from Tanworth Lane.

I echo most of the previous reviews. Thankfully this isn't my usual surgery and I was referred here as a one-off appointment. I arrived five minutes before my appointment and used the self check-in screen. After waiting forty minutes, I went to the receptionist to make sure I had checked in ok. She was sitting there taking some medication and looked at me like I was disturbing her. Her curt and unprofessional manner ('I can't hear you', rolling eyes when I said I didn't know the doctors name etc) was really off putting and I was really tempted to remind her that she wasn't doing me any favours and was getting paid to help patients. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and went to see the doctor. He asked me to request an 'early morning blood test' from the receptionist. When I did so, she turned and asked me 'Why does it need to be early morning?' in a really horrible, snobby way. I replied that she should go and ask the doctor! She had absoluetly no right to ask me that question. The sad part about this whole experience was that the actual doctor I saw, Dr Jackman, was amazing. In fact, I honestly don't think I've ever had a better consultation. He listened, made sure he understood the issue fully and then went about advising me all the steps he would take to get to the bottom of it. It was really reassuring. The issue is, the front of house is what you see first and last. The rececptionist was awful, had a chip on her shoulder and didn't want to do what she was paid to do. I would suggest they train her or change her immediately if they want to get better reviews and offer their patients the care they deserve. People were asking for urine sample bottles as quiety as they could and she would ask them to literally shout. It was terrible. I'm glad I won't have to go there again. My experience is from around 09:30am on 23/9/2025 - asian lady was the receptionist.
