Been trying for the past 7months to get an appointment as a follow up but I’ve got more chance going to the moon! Multiple phone calls to be told only able to book online even face to face they’ve refused my request. I just don’t know how lucky I’ve got to be to actually see my Dr, been off my medication for over 6months now as I’m unable to get a follow up. No wonder the hospitals are well over capacity, just want to see a dr
Standards have been gradually declining in this surgery, especially since lockdown. I was told I needed to book an appointment via the online system so I did - I had two issues, one urgent that could be dealt with by the nurse and one which I needed a doctors appointment for. I heard back same day from the nurse which was great - but never heard back about the doctors appointment. Three months later, I fill in the form again to make an appointment, thinking that it was missed because I’d put two issues down - nope, we’re three weeks in and I’ve heard nothing. If I need anything these days I tend to go to the walk in instead - they respond to you and often they’re better.
Possibly the most incompetent GP practice I ever had to deal with! The phone line is diabolical, as are some of the people who eventually answer the phone! They seem to want to make life harder instead of being helpful! The website is the most unnecessarily complicated I've ever had to navigate! How the older community is supposed to be taken care of properly by this practice is beyond me! The young girl on the desk yesterday at around 4.15pm, who seemed to be on her own and rushed off her feet, was clearly stressed and panicked. There seems to be no acknowledgement that people, like myself, who have had to jump through hoops to get a family members sample to the surgery on time, to then be told that because of someone else's incompetence, I couldn't be dealt with at that moment, then excluded from the sample pick up, was infuriating!
Dr Ghandi is a wonderful GP. He listens, shows care and empathy to patients and all GPs should aim to be more like him.
Recently went into the surgery to make a face to face appointment for my dad who is 85, housebound, deaf and doesn't know how to navigate anything IT related. I began to ask about booking a face to face and whilst still speaking the receptionist began shaking her head no and verbally told me no, appointments can only be booked via online or ring the surgery, I explained my dads situation and was told again how to book an appointment. If my dad didn't have me to arrange appointments for him, how on earth is he supposed to see a GP. I went onto the on line booking system and had no joy booking the appointment. I finally got through via the telephone at 5:45 and was told to ring back on Monday because non urgent appointments need to be booked before 5:30. So after 2 days I am still trying to make an appointment 😫
