Standards have been gradually declining in this surgery, especially since lockdown. I was told I needed to book an appointment via the online system so I did - I had two issues, one urgent that could be dealt with by the nurse and one which I needed a doctors appointment for. I heard back same day from the nurse which was great - but never heard back about the doctors appointment. Three months later, I fill in the form again to make an appointment, thinking that it was missed because I’d put two issues down - nope, we’re three weeks in and I’ve heard nothing. If I need anything these days I tend to go to the walk in instead - they respond to you and often they’re better.
Recently went into the surgery to make a face to face appointment for my dad who is 85, housebound, deaf and doesn't know how to navigate anything IT related. I began to ask about booking a face to face and whilst still speaking the receptionist began shaking her head no and verbally told me no, appointments can only be booked via online or ring the surgery, I explained my dads situation and was told again how to book an appointment. If my dad didn't have me to arrange appointments for him, how on earth is he supposed to see a GP. I went onto the on line booking system and had no joy booking the appointment. I finally got through via the telephone at 5:45 and was told to ring back on Monday because non urgent appointments need to be booked before 5:30. So after 2 days I am still trying to make an appointment 😫
I haven't used the GP surgery for years, about 8 years. Today I had to call up to book an appointment for sometime in the next few weeks. Apparently all the appointments are booked and I will need to ring every day at 8am until they can give me an appointment. No wonder A&E are overrun..... no wonder our NHS is falling apart! What a system!! Who has time to sit on hold for hours every morning to be told there are no appointments.
Awful website, hard to book an appointment and receptionist not bothered to help whilst being on the phone on hold for 30 minutes
Their website says "Face-to-face appointments continue to be available to all patients where there is a clinical need." When you try to phone at 8am the line is either engaged or the call waiting service is at full capacity. Went to the surgery at 8:10 as I believed appointments were available if you presenred yourself at 8:30. I was 4th in the queue. First 2 got an appointment and then it was full for the next 2 weeks. How do they know if there is a clinical need - presumably when they hear from the hospital that I have been taken in an ambulance. Two doctors at the practice today and one person in the waiting room at 11am. Where are they and what are they doing? Even 1 star is too many.
