Came here for my Sister’s birthday. It was a good time. Very busy restaurant.
I ordered a award winning steak pie. It wasn’t on the menu but I saw it on the website and asked if they had it and they did. It was really good. Pastry was lovely.
I also had pate with toasted bread. Very nice.
I had a passion fruit mocktail. It came with a shot and I didn’t know what it was. It was procecco. The manager said it was 0% alcohol Prosecco.
The ceiling is very low so be careful if you’re tall.
We also had a 40% off main course after signing up on the website.

Had a 40%off mains leaflet come through the door and hadn't been here for a few years, so be rude not too. Well we weren't disappointed. The bar area was nice n cosy although it did smell a little damp. We had to wait for our table, not long tho. A good selection of drinks at the bar. The inch's riversider was especially nice. Once we sat and ordered the starter came out quite quickly. Lovely presentation. I had the cheese, bacon n garlic mushrooms. Very nice, just needed a little more garlic and stronger cheese. I then went for the best pub pie and award winner apparently. And yes I did make the right choice, a little rich but yes very good pie. Exactly how it described. The staff were very good, friendly, cozy pub. Well worth a visit.

Really nice visit to this pub this evening. The atmosphere is great, lovely old building with plenty of original features. Food was delicious all the staff were friendly and attentive, a special thank you to Taylor for fantastic customer service very friendly and welcoming for our first visit here. We will be sure to return soon.

Decided on a visit to this pub for Sunday lunch having not been for over 12 months as the service had gone down hill. Was greeted at the reception desk with a smile and asked if we had any dietary requirements - on the ball from the outset. We were seated off to the side from the impressive pizza oven and Sarah was our server. She was pleasant and polite, helpful with our ordering and gave us just the right amount of attention, letting us enjoy our family lunch without too many interruptions. The food was piping hot and absolutely delicious, couldn't fault it. Was a little sceptical following our last visit but this one certainly put that one out of the picture - a huge improvement in both food and service. We really enjoyed our visit and will certainly be back. Thank you to Sarah and the chefs for a great Sunday lunch - we will be back!

Went with my sister for lunch. Food sublime. I had lamb shank which was very large cooked to perfection. Staff were helpful and friendly. Can’t recommend highly enough. Being a midweek lunch it was quite quiet but we loved the whole experience.
